After a short career in banking in my native country Germany I worked as a Naturopath in Australia. I have been counselling since 1999 and hold a Doctorate in Counselling  from UniSA. I have undergone further training in Emotionally Focussed Couple Therapy (EFT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as part of the Doctorate in Counselling at UniSA. I have tutored in several counselling courses of the Masters degree in Counselling studies at UniSA. From 2005 until 2008 I worked at Centacare as Men's and Family Relationship Counsellor. In 2009 and 2010 I presented workshops for Relationship Counsellors at the annual conference of the Counselling Association of South Australia.
